Coming Soon...

ADRR Summer 2025 Update. The Next Chapter Begins

Can you believe it? ADRR is still only 4months old, and what a start to life we have had!

Let’s take a quick look at where we are today:

  • 230 followers on SimGrid
  • 300 members in Discord
  • Over 130 drivers have raced in our championships

For a sim racing community that started from zero, that’s an incredible first chapter. Along the way, we’ve experimented a lot, some things have worked brilliantly, others not so much. But that’s exactly what these first few months were about: finding our groove.

What Didn't Work

  • Daily Races:
A nice idea on paper, but the reality of scheduling daily servers proved unsustainable. On top of that, open lobbies inevitably attracted a few bad apples who made it less enjoyable for everyone. In short, scrapped.
  • Ultimate Sprint Cup (USC):
We liked the concept of a monthly race, but the long gaps between rounds led to dwindling interest. After Round 4, USC will officially come to a close.

What Did Work

  • Flat Out Thursdays (FOT):
This has easily become the heart of ADRR, great racing, great banter, and a great vibe both on and off the track. FOT has proven what we’re about: quality, not quantity.

Moving Forward: The Summer 2025 Season

Everything up to this point has been our testing ground. Now, it’s time to get serious, well, serious racing at least (the streams will remain as unserious as ever).

We’re sticking with two championships, but there are some exciting changes ahead:

Flat Out Thursdays: Season 2

The most popular series in ADRR returns for Season 2, with a few upgrades:

  • We’re doing our own thing:
No longer tied to the VMS calendar. We’re building our own schedule.
  • 6-round championship:
Each race will now be 60 minutes long, still featuring mixed-class Hypercar and LMGT3 grids.
  • Broadcasts continue:
Every round will still be streamed live on YouTube.
  • Planned breaks between seasons:
ADRR is built for fun, not burnout. After each season, we’ll take a 3-week break so admins can join the odd race and prep for the next season. During the off-season, we’ll mix things up with fun one-off races, including at least one silly meme race.
  • Season 2 Start Date:
Thursday 3rd July 2025 - Check the FOT page for the full calendar.

Introducing: The ADRR Endurance Championship (AEC)

With USC coming to an end, we’re thrilled to introduce something entirely new: the ADRR Endurance Championship (AEC), A monthly driver swap endurance series.

“But driver swaps aren’t available yet!” True. But we know they’re coming, so we’re getting ahead of the curve and building the hype now.

Start thinking about your team lineups and get your endurance plans in place. While we’re still waiting for official driver swap server support and stable functionality, here’s the proposed AEC 2025 calendar to whet your appetite:

  • Round 1 – 8 Hours of Imola
  • Round 2 – 4 Hours of Interlagos
  • Round 3 – 4 Hours of Bahrain
  • Round 4 – 24 Hours of Le Mans
  • Round 5 – 4 Hours of Spa
  • Round 6 – 8 Hours of Silverstone*

*“But Silverstone isn’t in the game!” Also correct. But...Studio 397 have announced ELMS content is on its way to LMU, including Silverstone, Paul Ricard, and Barcelona. So yes, we’re being a little cheeky adding Silverstone, but we’re optimistic it’ll be an option by the time Round 6 rolls around.

That said, the calendar may adjust depending on when the new ELMS tracks land. We’ll make final decisions together as a community when the time comes.

AEC sign-ups:
Just like other ADRR championships, you’ll register for each round individually. If you want to register your team for Round 1 (date TBC), head to the ADRR Discord for the sign-up form.

A Few Extra Updates

  • ADRR Liveries:
We’ve started putting together ADRR liveries, currently available through the LMU team system. Stay tuned for better distribution options soon.
  • Represent ADRR:
If you want to represent ADRR in official LMU online events or external races, drop us a message on Discord, we’ll help you assemble a lineup.
  • Sporting Code:
We’ve added a Sporting Code section to the website. While we like to have fun on stream, we take the racing seriously. All drivers should familiarise themselves with the code, big thanks to the ADRR Heroes for creating and maintaining it.

That’s it for now. Huge thanks to everyone who’s raced, watched, supported, and joined in with the banter so far. We can’t wait to get the summer season rolling, see you all on track soon!
